U-Yee Sushi & Hibachi: A Taste of Japan in Iselin, NJ

First time here and it did not disappoint! Service was great and the food was even better. This will definitely be my go-to sushi spot from now on. Everything we got was so fresh and delicious.

We stopped here late night, almost closing time. They had no problem heating up the hibachi grill just for us. Nice little show like most. I loved the food and my daughter was thrilled with size of her steak.

Hibachi is one of my favorite foods and I am a bit of a harsh critic. The portions were pretty good for the price. I had the steak and shrimp hibachi which was pretty good. You also get ice cream at the end with the dinner which wasn’t bad. I would be back

I was really surprised, it was for my son's birthday he wanted to go to Jose Tejas but the line was out the door, so I suggested sushi. Did a Google search in maps and I saw they were highly rated and close to where we were. Two weeks later at another family gathering we were still talking about how good the food was, and the presentation of it as well.

This sushi spot is a gem with its creative menu featuring interestingly named rolls. My go-to is the Green Dragon Roll, filled with crispy shrimp tempura and cucumber, topped with thinly sliced avocado, roe, and eel sauce—the perfect balance of sweetness. I always end up asking for an extra side of eel sauce! My friend opted for the sushi sampler and was delighted with the variety, although the portion was so generous that she ended up taking half of it home. The service was great—quick and provided by a friendly, polite, and upbeat waitress. I've frequented this place both before the pandemic and the service has always been descent. While I haven't tried their hibachi events yet, I've overheard patrons enjoying themselves during these events on a couple of occasions. While I typically aim for 5-star reviews, I must provide an honest assessment to maintain transparency. The presence of tiny flies on 3/11/24 was concerning. Though I understand that flies are attracted to food, it detracted from my comfort and left me questioning the establishment's hygiene standards. They can swiftly resolve this issue by investing in fly traps. Additionally, receiving hot tea in a plastic cup raised safety concerns, as hot liquids can cause plastic to release harmful chemicals. Despite requesting a non-plastic alternative, none were available. I hope they consider investing in safer serving options, such as ceramic or porcelain mugs, to ensure the well-being of their patrons. If these issues are addressed, I would gladly revise my rating to 5 stars.

Great place there is no better hibachi place in the true state area Everyone was super kind and we got seated on a Valentine’s Day without a wait Also noticed a little of people complaining about price 25$ is a normal price for the amount food you are getting if you were to Benihana you would have paid at least 60$ a person !!!!!! Great place I recommend for everyone !!!!

This restaurant has such good sushi, and they have a day for half price. Ive been multiple times and the food is always very fresh, service is fast and friendly. They have a ton of sushi options and a sheet you can fill out at each table to submit the sushi order. Couldn't recommend them more, dont forget to ask for eel sauce and spicy mayo
